PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an economical cutter capable of selectively making perforations and cuts at will by a single cutter. SOLUTION: In a continuous cutter in an automatic packaging machine of multiple vertical rows, when the perforations are to be made while the vicinity of the center of a lateral seal of a continuum of packaging bags FZ is interposed between a cutter blade receive fitting 26 and a bag hold fitting 25, the cutter is controlled so that only the peak of the edge of a sawtooth knife 24 protrudes from the fitting 25.
