PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a manufacturing method of a pneumatic tire capable of suppressing air inclusion occurring in a case that a thermoplastic resin or a thermoplastic resin/elastomer composition is used for an inner liner. SOLUTION: A cylindrical laminate 4, which is formed by laminating the inner liner 2 comprising the thermoplastic resin or the thermoplastic resin/elastomer composition and a carcass layer 3 having a step-like splice part 7, is molded by a primary molding drum 1 and expanded in its diameter by a secondary molding drum 10 to mold an unvulcanized tire. In this molding method, a part in both end part regions at least in the width direction of the gap 8 formed along the step-like splice part 7 is crushed during a period until an elongation of 10% is applied to the inner liner 2 by the diameter expansion of the cylindrical laminate 4 after the cylindrical laminate 4 is molded.
