The vehicle seat has control components of first and second articulation mechanisms interconnected by a rod (21) which passes through a recess (23) in the control component (24,16) of the first articulation mechanism, wherein the connecting rod is connected to the recess by means of an insertion connection with angular play around the pivot axis of the control component. The control component of the first articulation mechanism has an outer section (26) which is accessible outside the seat structure and to which is rigidly connected the connecting rod by an additional connection (25). An independent claim is included for a method for the manufacturing of a seat in which the aforesaid connecting rod is fastened on the outer section of the control component of the first joint from outside the seat structure to realize the additional connection.
