<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device and method for driving a display panel by which occurrence of a failure on a display screen is suppressed even when panel temperature is out of a predetermined temperature range. <P>SOLUTION: The device for driving the display panel 1 in which elements E1 for display are arranged to each intersection position of a plurality of data lines and a plurality of scanning lines and the elements E1 for display are driven by a data driver 2 and a scan driver 3, includes a clock frequency conversion means 8a for converting an operation clock frequency in the scan driver 3 into 1/N frequency; a temperature detection means 9 for detecting temperature of the display panel 1; and a control means 8 for performing operation control of the data driver 2 and the scan driver 3, wherein the control means 8 converts the clock frequency by the clock frequency conversion means 8a and thins video data to be supplied to the data driver 2 by unit of (N-1) frames when the temperature detected by the temperature detection means 9 is outside the predetermined temperature range. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
