METHOD FOR PRODUCING L-GLUTAMIC ACID

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a new technique for improving productivity of L-glutamic acid in production of L-glutamic acid using γ-proteobacteria.

SOLUTION: Production of L-glutamic acid is performed by culturing γ-proteobacteria capable of producing L-glutamic acid and having been modified so as to realize an increase of quinone oxide reductase activity in a culture medium to thereby attain formation and accumulation of L-glutamic acid in the culture and collecting L-glutamic acid from the culture.
