<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus having a noise insulation mechanism for reducing constant noise of the apparatus without increasing and extending the volume of the apparatus, by exciting a structure body composing the main body of the apparatus or a component (hereinafter referred to as "apparatus main body member" including the structure body and component) so as to emit sound, thereby eliminating the need for a bulky and expensive acoustic component such as a loudspeaker. <P>SOLUTION: The image forming apparatus includes the noise insulation mechanism 30 that detects and measures noise caused in the apparatus and emits reverse phase sound by a sound emitting member according to the result, thereby insulating or reducing noise in the apparatus.
