<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a traffic congestion detecting device and a traffic congestion information providing device for utilizing communication with on-vehicle equipment. <P>SOLUTION: This device radiates a first radio wave toward a first road surface from above the first road surface with a first antenna; adds transmission time information to first information, including ID information transmitted from on-vehicle equipment, in response to the first radio wave to be held; curries out predetermined processing using the first information, radiates a second radio wave toward a second road surface downstream, away from the first road surface from above the second road surface with a second antenna; and determines the identity between vehicles, by comparing the second information including the ID information transmitted from the on-vehicle equipment, in response to the second radio wave and the held first information. When the identity between the vehicles is detected, the result of the predetermined processing is transmitted to the on-vehicle equipment via the second antenna, and the traffic congestion is detected from the time elapsed from the transmission time of the first information to that of the second information. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI</p> |
