PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of manufacturing an anisotropic conductive membrane which can improve insulation in a direction of membrane surface and/or can improve conductivity in a direction of membrane thickness. SOLUTION: The method of manufacturing an anisotropic conductive membrane includes the following four processes. (1) a process of forming a polymer porous membrane, which has many porous areas penetrating the membrane in the direction of thickness and the porous areas are arranged in a honeycomb shape and the inner surface of the porous area has a curvature towards a direction of the exterior. (2) a process of heating the porous membrane up to the vicinity of glass transition temperature of the polymer membrane. (3) a process of filling up a conductive material inside the porous area of the porous membrane, and (4) a process of putting an adhesive layer on both sides of the porous membrane. The method of forming the porous membrane is, for example, to keep under high humidity atmosphere a supporting board on which is cast a polymer solution made of volatile organic solvent not mixable with water.
