PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid droplet ejecting apparatus which can efficiently and surely carry out the recovery action for nozzles by a positive pressure purge system while a consumption amount of liquid is suppressed, by a simple constitution. SOLUTION: At the normal time, a pressing roller 14 is present at a retreat position, and a mesh press member 32 is present at a position of the rest state (the first STEP). The mesh press member 32 is a plate-like member with a plurality of ink passages (holes) formed in the shape of a mesh. When the recovery action is started, first, the pressing roller 14 descends to approach a sub tank 31 and is fixed (the second STEP). Thereafter, an elastic supporting member 35 at an upper part of the sub tank 31 contacts the pressing roller 14 by the movement of a carriage 4. The elastic supporting member 35 is elastically deformed to sink downwards when receiving a load from the pressing roller 14. In consequence, the mesh press member 32 is pressed to move to the downstream side (the third STEP).
