PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for manufacturing artificial zeolite from smelting reduction slag in a simple process and in a short time by using smelting reduction slag as a source material. SOLUTION: Artificial zeolite is obtained by adding an acid containing sulfuric acid to dissolve the smelting reduction slag containing at least silica and alumina so as to control the pH to≤2, separating sedimentation of insoluble substances and the produced sulfate from a solution to prepare a source solution, adding an alkali metal hydroxide or its solution to the source solution, and subjecting the solution to hydrothermal synthesis.
