PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an inkjet recording apparatus capable of carrying a recording medium while floating-up of the recording medium from the carrying belt is suppressed. SOLUTION: The inkjet recording apparatus comprises an electrostatically charging means for a belt, a recording medium feeding means GR, and a recording medium electrostatically charging means. The electrostatically charging means for the belt electrostatically charges the carrying belt V so that a positively electrostatic charging region which is electrostatically charged to a positive electrode side, and a negatively electrostatic charging region which is electrostatically charged to a negative electrode side, are alternately arranged in the carrying direction of the recording medium P. The recording medium feeding means GR feeds the recording medium P on the carrying belt V so that within either of the positively electrostatic charging region or the negatively electrostatic charging region, the tip part PH of the recording medium P is grounded within an effective electrostatic charging region except both end parts in the carrying direction of the electrostatic charging region. The recording medium electrostatically charging means electrostatically charges at least the tip part PH of the recording medium P to an opposite polarity to the polarity of the electrostatically charging region where the recording medium P is grounded.
