PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a replacement device for a gas meter that does not require air purge and has high operability. SOLUTION: The replacement device 1 for the gas meter comprises an arm 27 having a sealing member 20 for opening and closing an outlet side pipe connected to the gas meter 10, an actuator 2 that rotatably supports the arm 27 at a rotation endpoint and a position where the outlet side pipe is blocked by the sealing member 20, and receives working fluid for rotating the arm 27, an accumulator 3 for supplying the working fluid to the actuator 2, pipes 4a and 4b for connecting between the actuator 2 and accumulator 3, and a mechanical valve 5 that is connected to the midway of the pipe 4a and is opened and closed in interlock with a contacting/separating operation from the gas meter 10.
