PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device with simple structure for recovering energy from a vehicle in traveling, which does not obstruct foot passengers or does not generate shocks in traveling the vehicle. SOLUTION: At least driving wheels 13 of the vehicle 11 are abutted on a road 12 on which the vehicle 11 runs. A movable member 14 movable forward and backward is disposed to the road. The thrust generated in the movable member 14 depending on traveling conditions of the vehicle 11 drives an energy recovering means 15 connected with the movable member 11 to recover part of travelling energy of the vehicle 11.
