PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an electroluminescent phosphor particle having improved luminous efficiency and emission luminance. SOLUTION: The electroluminescent phosphor particle comprises at least one kind of a metal element belonging to a second transition series of the group 6-the group 10 in a zinc sulfide particle comprising copper as an activator and at least one kind selected from chlorine and bromine as a coactivator.
