PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a gelatin hard capsule having a high film strength, and to provide a method for producing the same. SOLUTION: This method for producing the gelatin hard capsule having a high film strength comprises processes comprising (i) adding 1 to 10 pts.wt. of a PEG mixture of PEG 600 and PEG 500 in a weight ratio of 40 to 60: 60 to 40 to a solution containing 100 pts.wt. of gelatin, (ii) adding 0.1 to 1.2 pts.wt. of a mixture of an emulsifier containing an acetyl glyceryl fatty acid ester and sodium lauryl sulfate to the mixture obtained above, and (iii) leaving the mixture obtained above, adjusting its viscosity, and forming the hard capsule from the same. The gelatin hard capsule of the present invention has a uniform film distribution minimizing cracks, even when a moisture-absorbing substance is inserted into the gelatin hard capsule.
