<p>A petrol or diesel piston engine is secured to a test stand and connected with a supply of suitable fuel for a hot test run. The fuel supply is introduced via a push-fit union, which also has a secondary inlet for a gas e.g. compressed air. Following the engine test, the supply of fuel to the engine is terminated and the engine stopped. A quantity of compressed air is then introduced to the engine fuel inlet, forcing residual fuel back into the engine, following which the engine fuel inlet is capped.</p> |
