Use of a 6-[(imidazol-5-yl)methyl]quinoline compound of formula (I), or a compound of formula (II) or (III) which is metabolised in vivo to a compound of formula (I), a stereoisomeric form thereof or a pharmaceutically acceptable acid or base addition salt thereof for the preparation of a pharmaceutical composition for treating arthropathies such as, for example, rheumatoid arthritis, osteoarthritis, juvenile arthritis, and gout.
