PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a waste liquid tray for storing ink waste liquid in which ink waste liquid discharged to the waste liquid tray can be fluidized smoothly through a simple means. SOLUTION: The waste liquid tray has an area 2 for storing ink waste liquid, an area 3 for receiving ink waste liquid discharged from a pump unit (not shown), and a nonstorage area 4 from where the ink waste liquid should be removed positively. The nonstorage area 4 is provided with V-grooves 10, as ink guide passages, through which ink waste liquid can be discharged smoothly from openings 9. Furthermore, an ink pool 7 is formed in the ink receiving area 3 and since the ink waste liquid discharged to the ink pool 7 is temporarily stored therein, the ink waste liquid can be absorbed gradually from the side face of a primary ink absorbing material 13 without flowing over the waste liquid tray even when the quantity of ink waste liquid being discharged during a predetermined time is larger than the quantity of ink being absorbed by the primary ink absorbing material 13. |
