PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain the subject emulsion useful for thermo-sensitive recording media having excellent recording travelability, preservability before and after color development, or the like by including a resin having an ethylenically unsaturated group, a filler and a hydrophilic resin having ethylene oxide group. SOLUTION: This emulsion contains (A) a resin containing >=1 ethylenically unsaturated group in the molecle, (B) a filler (preferably an inorganic filler, e.g. aluminium hydroxide) and (C) a hydrohilic resin having >=70 wt.% ethylene oxide group in the molecule [preferably a compound of formula I or formula II (R is H or a 1-25C alkyl; (n) is an integer of >=1 on average)]. The quantities of the respective components to be used are preferably as follows; 2-80 wt.% component A, 0.2-50 wt.% component B and 4-30 wt.% component C based on the total weight of the composition in the emulsion. The composition preferably further contains a polymer wax having a softening point of 87-100 deg.C. |
