PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To accurately execute high-speed pattern matching, without performing preprocessing for deteriorating a pattern by estimating a noise quantity contained in a pixel to be searched and a template image and calculating a normalization correlation value, while considering the estimated noise quantity. SOLUTION: An image f103 to be searched and a template image t113 are respectively turned into noise estimate values Vf105 and Vt115, by estimating the noise dispersion quantity of the entire images through noise estimation 104 and inputted to a noise consideration normalizing correlation 120. The noise consideration normalizing correlation 120 calculates a noise consideration normalizing correlation value r121 by inputting the image f103 to be searched, the template image t113 and the noise estimate values Vf105 and Vt115. Concerning the noise consideration normalizing correlation value r121, on the basis of a threshold Th112 inputted from the outside for decision 123, partial images taking the normalizing correlation values greater than the threshold are defined as matching candidates and detection information 124 such as coordinates related to the matching candidates is generated. |
