The lining has a board edge support (20), in which a recess is provided for attaching an head impact protection device (30) with an assembly position of the lining. The device (30) comprises a hermetically sealed airbag support connected with the support (20). A decoration layer (40) is provided on the side of a foam layer, which is sufficiently flexible, such that it is easily lifted from the support during releasing of the device (30). An independent claim is also included for a method for pre-assembly of a vehicle door lining.
