A vacuum brake booster comprises a housing divided by a movable wall to define two chambers, one on each side of the wall, a fluid inlet valve, an input actuating rod connected to the valve which is adapted in turn to be operated by depression of a brake pedal of a vehicle, an output actuating rod located between the movable wall and a connection to a master cylinder. A reaction member 10 is located in the force path between the actuation rod 8 and the output rod 9, the reaction member 10 determining at least in the pedal feel felt by a driver when applying force to the input actuating rod; and in which the reaction member is coated with a friction reducing layer (Figs 2-7) at least in a region which contacts one of the actuating rods. |
