#CMT# #/CMT# The system (1) comprises two electrically conducting layers (2) separated by an intermediate electrically insulating layer (3) and secured to the layer of material being monitored. A detection system (4) is electrically connected to the conductive layers in order to detect any short circuiting in these layers caused by a cut made in the layer of material being monitored. The detection system is linked to a transmitter (5) for wireless communication with a receiver (6) connected to a control system (7) for an alarm (8).
