[Also in Group XI] An overload release device comprises a bimetal actuating member surrounded on all sides by a rigid body around which an exchangeable heater cartridge is located. The bi-metal is in the form of a helix 36 attached at one end to the surrounding body 28 and at its other end to a spindle 34 projecting from the body through an aperture 32. The end of the spindle is cranked and engages a window 40 in a coupling bar whose end bears on a lever 48 adjustably pivoted at 50 and carrying a contact 54 co-operating with a fixed contact 56. The heater cartridge (see Group XI), is slid over the body 28 and pressed against a conductor 42 by a screw 44 threaded in a further conductor 46. Several similar devices may be mounted side-by-side with their spindle 34 projecting through respective windows 40 in a common bar 18. |
