An industrial truck having a battery compartment and a battery block (4) which can be moved in the substantially horizontal direction in relation to the battery compartment for the purpose of carrying out a battery change. A coupling/plug connection (8) is provided for the purpose of electrically connecting the battery block (4) to an electrical system of the industrial truck. A first part (9) of the coupling/plug connection (8) is arranged on the battery compartment (4) and a second part (10) of the coupling/plug connection (8) is arranged on the battery block (4) such that it can move. A guide (12) is arranged on the battery compartment for the purpose of guiding the second part (10). The second part (10) is fixed to the battery block (4) by means of at least one spring rod which is aligned substantially parallel to the movement direction of the battery block (4).
