A tunnelling machine has a cutting head (1) which is advanced through the soil by a rotating shaft (12) with a journal (11). The journal axis (B) describes an acute angle to the shaft axis (A). The cutting head (1) rotates about the journal axis (B) and has an outer margin (18) which runs out to a peripheral zone (19). The cutting head is esp. assembled from a number of components including the cutting tool (30) and bearing block (3).
