<p>A corrosion control system is disclosed including an anionic scale inhibitor, a cationic acid inhibitor or dispersant, and a noxious sulfur species inhibitor or scavenger for use in a fluid in contact with a metallic surface at low, moderate and especially high temperatures. Also disclosed is a drilling fluid, a completion fluid, a production fluid and a geothermal fluid including an effective amount of the corrosion control system, as well as methods for making and using the same. The anionic scale inhibitor includes a phosphate ester, the cationic acid inhibitor comprises a quinoline quaternary surfactant, and the sulfur scavenger is selected from the group consisting of amines, aldehyde-amines, triazines, and mixtures or combinations thereof. The system may further comprise a pH modifier, and a shale inhibitor. The shale inhibitor may be a choline salt or a 2-hydroxyethyl trimethylammonium salt. The drilling fluids may also include a density reduction additive.</p> |
