A plastic movable guide for a chain or other traveling transmission medium, comprises a guide body 101 composed of a shoe 102 and a slotted plate-receiving portion 103 integrally molded as a unit from a resin, and a reinforcing plate 108 inserted into the slot 107. A mounting hole 105 adjacent one end of the guide body 101 is aligned with a hole 108A adjacent one end of the reinforcing plate. The diameter d1 of the hole 108A in the reinforcing plate 108 is larger than the diameter d2 of the mounting hole 105 in the guide body 101, so that the inner periphery of the hole 108A in the reinforcing plate 108 does not extend inward past the edge of the mounting hole 105. The guide so configured exhibits excellent quietness and assembly efficiency and can be produced at a relatively low cost.
