IT ALSO INCLUDES A METHOD OF MAKING INK JET PRINTING STOCK CAPABLE OF RETAINING INDICIA FORMED BY INK JET PRINTING USING PIGMENTED INK, THE METHOD COMPRISING SURFACE TREATING A SHEET SUBSTRATE WITH AN AQUEOUS SIZING MEDIUM CONTAINING A DIVALENT METALLIC SALT. A METHOD FOR IMPROVING PRINT QUALITY OF INK JET PRINTING OF PIGMENTED INK ON A SURFACE TREATED SHEET SUBSTRATE MADE USING THE COMPOSITION OR METHOD IS ALSO DISCLOSED, AS IS THE PAPER SO MADE, WITH AND WITHOUT INK JET PRINTED PIGMENTED INK APPLIED THERETO. INDICIA PRINTED THEREON WILL HAVE IMPROVED PRINT QUALITY CHARACTERISTICS.
