In a transistor oscillator a tuned circuit 2 in the collector circuit is back-coupled to the emitter by means of two series-connected seconary windings 6, one of which gives positive and the other negative feedback. The relative amounts of feedback are varied by means of an axially movable magnetic core 5 having a critical position, at which the arrangement goes into oscillation. Oscillations are detected by a transistor detector/amplifier 11 coupled to the circuit 2 by means of winding 7 and which produces a D.C. output at its collector which depends upon whether oscillations occur and which is proportional to the movement of the core over the oscillation range. |
