The assembly has an armrest (4) forming an adjusting device actuating unit and movable with respect to an adjusting device (8) along an actuating movement. The armrest is alternatively moved from an adjusting position to a following adjusting position along the actuating movement in order to provoke a movement of the device (8) in a determined direction with respect to a support (6) fixed in a motor vehicle.
