The procedure consists of marking the position of the hole in the tire after locating it, if necessary by immersing the wheel in water one section at a time with the tire inflated, using a tool (1) with a point (5). After removing the tire a second tool (2) with a hole is fitted to the end of the point projecting inside the tire and a layer of abrasive paper (4) on it is used to clean and prepare the tire's inner surface to receive an adhesive patch. The two tools are in the form of plastic wing nuts, each faced with a layer of foam (3). An independent claim is included for a narrow and preferably transparent plastic container or bag to hold water for locating the puncture.
