The machine has at least one of its two rollers made with central, intermediate (2) and outer layers, the intermediate layer being of a synthetic material with a Shore A hardness of 40 - 60. The outer layer is of a rigid material 0.1 - 1 mm thick with its surface engraved with a negative version of the structure to be formed on a plastic film passed between the rollers. The intermediate layer can be made from a series of annular sections surrounding rigid rings and contains at least one tube (4) located parallel to the roller's axis to deliver a pressurised treatment fluid, the tube(s) being covered with a protective layer (2') of a synthetic material that is harder than the intermediate layer itself.
