PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To facilitate memory access from external equipment and to avoid alteration of image information. SOLUTION: When a recording trigger switch 5 is operated, one image outputted from a camera signal processing circuit 17 at the point is written in a semiconductor memory 12, data compression is further performed by a data compression circuit 21 and the compressed data are stored in a semiconductor memory 13. At this point, supposing external equipment which is not illustrated is connected to a connector 14, even if the external equipment instructs to fetch an image of the semiconductor memory 13, when the semiconductor memory 13 is under image writing, a state detection circuit 23 detects the image writing, prohibits fetching to the external equipment, in addition, while fetching the image of the semiconductor memory 13 to the external equipment, the state detection circuit 23 detects the image fetching, even when the recording trigger switch 5 is operated, an AND gate 6 turns off and the image writing to the semiconductor memory 13 is prohibited.
