PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an aluminum alloy for a mold, the alloy providing a mold which can suppress the accumulation of stains caused by the repetition of tire vulcanization, thereby can be used over a long period of time without causing a reduction in the appearance of a tire and the occurrence of defect in its surface even when the mold is not given cleaning operation, and to provide a mold for vulcanization obtained by using the same. SOLUTION: The aluminum alloy for a mold has a composition mainly made up of Al, and containing, by weight,≥10% Zn and≤0.01% Cu. The mold for vulcanization is composed of the aluminum alloy for a mold, or is the one in which a film composed of the aluminum alloy for a mold is formed at least on the surface in contact with crude rubber to be vulcanized.
