PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of manufacturing a product made by finely jointing a target member made of a high-melting-point metal and a base metal with a high thermal conductivity. SOLUTION: The X-ray tube target with a circular target member of the high-melting-point metal jointed and integrated with the surface of a base body made of copper or a copper alloy is obtained through a target member forming process for making a circular target member with the use of a high-melting-point metal material, a plating process nickel-plating a surface of the target member, a solid-state diffusion process for diffusing in a solid state a high-melting-point metal in a nickel-plated layer of the target member plated with nickel, an internal chilling process for fitting in the target member in a molding die and casting molten copper or copper alloy inside it, and a process for machining the cast matter taken out of the molding die after being cooled into given shapes.
