A label magazine comprises a base member 21, a pair of parallel bars 27, 28, each rigidly secured at one end to the base member, at least two rigid, parallel supports 33, 36 secured to the bars, a plurality of prong carriers 37, 40 in the form of rails, extending between said supports and so mounted thereon as to be movable from a position of parallelism to positions of relative divergence, and means for attaching prongs to said prong carriers. The supports 33-36 are adjustable longitudinally of the bars 27, 28 and the prong carriers 37-10 are slidably mounted in slots T in the supports. The prongs P have the usual lips at their lower edges to support a stack of labels. Each bar consists of two spaced apart members 29 and 30, which are received in grooves in the upper surfaces of the supports. Bolts are passed through flanged caps seated on top of the bars and screwed into the supports, to secure the latter in position. Each prong carrier consists of two pairs of rails 41, 42, and 43, 44, said pairs engaging the upper and lower surfaces of the appropriate supports, respectively, and attached thereto by bolts passing through the slots T, Fig. 4 (not shown). Each prong P is fixed to a holder 101 by a flanged bolt 104. The holder is slidably mounted between said rails 41-44 and held in the desired position by a bolt 108 passing through flanged caps 35a, 35c and an aperture in the holder 101. Each support has an inverted U-shaped bracket 52 fixed to its upper side in which a rod 55 slides. The rod carries one or more prongs and is located by a screw passing through the bracket. The prongs may be spaced from the carriers, and are profiled according to the shape of the labels to be held. For example the labels may be elliptical, quadrilateral or heart-shaped.
