AN OPTICAL DISC DEVICE HAVING A TURNTABLE-INTEGRATED DRIVE MOTOR

An optical disc device comprising a drive motor for driving the optical disc. The drive motor has a rotor housing (6) which is rotatable around its axis (5). A flat radial outer surface (8) of the rotor housing (6) forms a turntable for engagement with the optical disc. The central part of the rotor housing (6) comprises a coaxial protrusion (9,10,11) to form a guiding and positioning member for the optical disc. The protrusion (9,10,11) may comprise a cylindrical portion (9) for centering, and a conical portion (10) for guiding the rotating optical disc.
