In a method for transferring a message containing audio and/or voice information from a transmitting communication terminal (20) to a receiving communication terminal (30), said message is depending on a setting of said receiving conununication terminal (30) either directly played back at said receiving communication terminal (30) or temporarily stored and played back at a later time point. The user of the receiving communication terminal (30) is thus free to decide whether the communication is direct or asynchronous.
