<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To increase a power generation area, and consequently, to miniaturize a fuel cell. <P>SOLUTION: The separator for a fuel cell has a composition in which a fuel gas flow passage 9 and an oxidation gas flow passage 4 are formed so that a fuel gas flowing the face 1b on the anode side and an oxidation gas flowing the face 1a on the cathode side become a countercurrent to each other. A rectangular fuel gas introducing part 8 has the long side with nearly the same width as the whole width of the fuel gas flow passage 9, and a manifold 7 of a fuel gas inlet is connected in the same width as the short side of the fuel gas introducing part 8. These two are formed to the face 1b on the anode side. While, a rectangular oxidation gas introducing part 3 has the long side with nearly the same width as the whole width of the oxidation gas flow passage 4, and a manifold 2 for an oxidation gas inlet is connected in the same width as the long side of the oxidation gas introducing part 3.
