<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical waveguide that has a very wide wavelength region for a high transmission bandwidth, suits multi-wavelength and facilitates manufacturing, and also to provide an optical transmission line and an optical communication system using the waveguide. <P>SOLUTION: The optical waveguide is formed by connecting two kinds or more GI type multimode fibers (MMF) which are produced by adding each different dopant to fused quartz.
