<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical waveguide that has a very wide wavelength region for a high transmission bandwidth, suits multi-wavelength and facilitates manufacturing, and also to provide an optical transmission line and an optical communication system using the waveguide. <P>SOLUTION: The optical waveguide is formed by connecting two kinds or more GI type multimode fibers (MMF) which are produced by adding each different dopant to fused quartz. In this case, the optical waveguide 10 is desirably formed by connecting a Ge added GI type MMF 12 and an F added GI type MMF 11. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
