<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for generating an image plotting command capable of sufficiently utilizing a processing performance of a high performance image plotting section, a program of generating the image plotting command, a recording medium containing the program recorded therein, an image processor, and an image forming apparatus having the image processor. <P>SOLUTION: An image plotting processor extracts image plotting information from PDL data by classifying it by each of image plotting attributes of at least one of a graphic, a text, an image and a color, and receives or sends an image plotting command processable by a high performance image plotting means by each attribute. The image plotting processor comprises a PDL interpreting means for receiving PDL and extracting high level image plotting information by interpreting the PDL and an image plotting processing means for converting the extracted high level image plotting information to the image plotting command.
