PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable users who are present at remote locations to operate an apparatus or to display information bidirectionally to an object which exists in his or her own room or other party's room.

SOLUTION: An input image obtained at an image input part 101 of user A side is transmitted to a reverse image generation part 104 while being transmitted to user B side through a network 200. A mirror reversed image is generated, and the position which the user A indicates is detected at an indicated position detection part 106. An input image of the user B is received at receiving part 103, and is superimposed with the reversed image at an image superposition part 105. A command selection part 107 selects a command which the user A designates and executes it based on the position on the superimposed image. An information display part 108 displays information on the superimposed image based on the command.
