PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a disk drive device configured to prevent chipping at the time of inserting and ejecting a disk cartridge into and from the inside of a cartridge holder. SOLUTION: Apertures 31d are formed at approximately the center etc., on both sides of a top plate section 31 of the cartridge holder 30. Leaf springs 35 for retaining the cartridge are arranged in the top plate section 31 and side parts 32 around the apertures 31d. The leaf springs 35 are bent and formed to an approximately L shape in front by mounting pieces 35a and elastic deformation pieces 35b. The approximate centers of the mounting pieces 35a are pivotally and freely turnably supported by pins 35d in side parts 32 of the cartridge holder 30. Guide shaft 35e to be engaged with inclined guide grooves 22b formed in side parts 22 of a slider 20 are projected on the front end side of the mounting pieces 35a. Cartridge retainers 35f are projected on the front end side of the elastic deformation pieces 35b. The leaf springs 35 rotate only during descending of the cartridge holder 30.
