PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a shock absorber for securing a suspension spring bearer to a cylinder without tottering. SOLUTION: The shock absorber comprises the suspension spring bearer 20 provided on the cylinder 11 for bearing a suspension spring 15 at its lower end. The suspension spring bearer 20 consists of a cylindrical body 21 for covering the end of the cylinder 11, an annular spring bearer portion 22 provided on the outer periphery side of the body 21, a plurality of upper stage protruded portions 23 provided on the body 21 at equal spaces along the circumferential direction and protruded inward from the body 21 for pressure-contacting the outer periphery of the cylinder 11, and a plurality of lower stage protruded portions 24 provided under the position of the body 21 where the upper stage protruded portions 23 are provided, at equal spaces along the circumferential direction and protruded inward from the body 21 for pressure-contacting the outer periphery of the cylinder 11.
