摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a valve open/close characteristic control device for an internal combustion engine improving controllability by securing action nature of an open/close characteristic change mechanism under a low temperature condition. SOLUTION: The open/close characteristic change mechanism is provided with an electric motor 50 as a drive source and changes open/close characteristics of an engine valve. Electronic control device 60 controls a power supply mode of the electric motor 50. A regulation member 13b mechanically regulates rotation of the output shaft 51 by interlocking with rotation of an output shaft 51 of the electric motor 50 and abutting on a displacing projection part 41a. The electronic control device 60 controls the power supply mode of the motor 50 to forcedly drive the electric motor 50 for pressing the projection part 41a against a regulation member 13b in a state that rotation of the output shaft 51 is regulated by abutment under a condition where temperature of the open/close characteristic change mechanism is lower than predetermined temperature.
