PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a closing device of a sliding door capable of being operated for completely closing a door body in the case the door body is slightly opened in a state just before the door body is completely closed, keeping the door body in a free state in the case it is widely opened and contributing to the reduction of a manufacturing cost by a simple constitution. SOLUTION: A closing device body 2a is provided to either one of the door body 11 of the sliding door and a door frame 12, a temporary fixed means 25 is provided to the remaining other of them, an arm 21 rotatable within a range between an opening position O and a closing position C, an energizing means 23 energizing the arm 21 and a buffer means 24 making the pivoting operation of the arm 21 decelerate are provided to the closing device body are provided to the closing device body 2a, the temporary fixed means 25 is abutted on a fixed section 21b of the arm 21, it is capable of holding so as to make it immovable in the longitudinal direction, and when there is the door body 11 between the predetermined opening position and closing position, the fixed section 21b is held on the temporary fixed means 25, and the closing device of the sliding door closing the door body 11 is provided.
