PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To support a breaking prevention part by constantly putting the breaking prevention part on the root part between the thumb and the forefinger of the left hand despite the size and shape of the hand of an operator and to constantly retain the fingers of the operator in optimal positions. SOLUTION: This electronic endoscope is provided with an insertion tube to be introduced inside an object, an operation part for extending the insertion tube, the universal tube extending from the operation part and having a connector detachably attached to a video processor at one end part, and the breaking prevention part disposed at the extension part of the universal tube from the operation part and bored with a linear through-hole for internally inserting the other end of the universal tube. The breaking prevention part is so formed that the distance from the axis of the through-hole part to the outer circumferential part is not uniform; and is turned relative to the operation part and the universal tube.
