ADSORPTION FILM AND ORGANIC EL DEVICE

An adsorption film which rapidly absorbs water remaining in an organic EL device and holds it without releasing it. The film further absorbs external water for long. In addition, it actively absorbs outgases remaining or generated in the device, e.g., an acid gas. It can thus prolong the luminescent life of an organic EL element. It has satisfactory workability and sufficient desiccating ability and has the excellent function of absorbing moisture even in an ordinary-temperature environment or high-temperature environment. Also provided is an organic EL device employing the adsorption film. The adsorption film comprises a resin and desiccants incorporated therein, and is characterized in that the adsorption film is composed of at least two desiccating layers, at least one of the desiccating layers having a chemical-adsorption type desiccant and at least one of the remainder having a physical-adsorption type desiccant.
