The present invention relates to PP or functional equivalents thereof for use in pharmaceutical compositions. The pharmaceutical compositions are in particular useful in the treatment of functional gastrointestinal disorders, such as irritable bowel disease and functional dyspepsia. The invention further relates to methods of treatment using said compositions. Further included is the combination of PP or functional equivalents thereof with a secondary active ingredient such as an anti-emetic drug.
